Hi, i just tried to install Vista in the upgrade mode (32bit version). I gave the laptop a good dervice first to get rid of any spyware then rebooted and run the upgrade via the DVD that seems to be created properly. The install goes throught the first few screens fine and gets to the page with the 5 install sections that get ticked as they complete - copying files, sorting files etc or whatever they say..anyway it was all going well for about 45mins and was on the 3rd section and a white box came up saying that there was an error (no code) when the install was trying to boot into the next install section and the install had failed. The only option was to click OK which ended the install and returned me to my XP Pro desktop.
Has anyone else had this? can i get around it??

install error that i have not seen mentioned anywhere yet!!!
